Spirit Lake is about a half hour north of our Post Falls shop. The closest NOAA normals we use are for Coeur dāAlene: about 25.4 inches of precipitation a year, December precipitation near 3.47 inches and January lows near 26.2Ā°F. Croc Coatings has installed 1,700+ floors across North Idaho and Eastern Washington. Weather figures are from the NOAA 1991ā2020 climate normals for the Coeur dāAlene station, the nearest we use.

The Coeur dāAlene station we use for Spirit Lake records about 120 days a year with a low at or below 32Ā°F, and about 23 days at or below 20Ā°F. In that cold, water in concrete pores freezes and expands, and the surface can scale. What happens on a Spirit Lake project:

The concrete is ground open, with HEPA vacuums controlling dust.
2: Repairing Your Floors
Cracks and joints are filled with Penntek menders.
3: Applying the Base-Coat
A Penntek polyurea base-coat is mixed and rolled on.
4: Hand-Casting the Chip
Flake is cast by hand over the wet base-coat.
5: Scraping the Chip
Once cured, loose flake is scraped and vacuumed away.
6: Sealing the Clear Coat
